About Us

Aimed at those with a sense of adventure, and romance, we now have a 'glamping' option available at Ballyvolane House in the form of bell tents. Located in the stunning gardens, shaded by shrubs and trees, you can enjoy a quiet, peaceful and an extremely comfortable and warm nights sleep.

The bell tents are equipped with super-comfy mattresses stuffed with recycled jeans and organic lamb's wool, proper sheets, pillows, duvets and blankets, fluffy towels, tea-light chandeliers to provide light and heat, glamping box with a torch, homemade chocolate cookies, elderflower cordial, water a map of the estate. There are heated luxury loos and showers (with lots of mirrors and hair dryers) close to the camping area and full-Irish breakfast is served the next morning in the gardens or indoors if it's wet.

Other Information

There is an inescapable air of frivolity at Ballyvolane - the name itself means 'the place of springing heifers' and is testament to the fertility, richness and natural diversity of the land on which the estate lies.

Originally built in 1728 by Sir Richard Pyne, a retired Lord Chief Justice of Ireland, Ballyvolane was designed in the classic Georgian country house style with three storeys, as illustrated in picture below (bottom right). An amorous descendent, Jasper Pyne, acquired sufficient capital from his marriage to three wealthy women to have the house considerably enlarged in the early 19th century. The three-storey house was modified in 1847 by Jasper’s nephew and heir, George Pyne style.

Special Offers

There is a reduced rate for a 2-night stay if required, please contact us for details.

Total Camping Ireland attended a wedding here in August 2012. Many of the guests were staying in the Glamping Bell tents. This is a fantastic setting for a quiet weekend away, the facilities are top notch & the food is gorgeous- highly recommended
